Channahon is located on the north side of the Illinois River and has several access points that open up all kinds of fun on the water - boating, water skiing, fishing, or just relaxing near the water's edge. There are also miles of hiking and biking trails along the historic I&M Canal, and plenty of woods and fresh air in our Forest Preserves. For the avid golfers, we have Heritage Bluffs Golf Course, and 18-hole award-winning course that’s right off of Interstate 55.
And if you’re looking for fun things to do with the kids this summer, Channahon Park district has lots of great programs, and also runs the popular Tomahawk Aquatic Center. Another great family attraction that draws thousands of visitors each fall is the Dollinger Farm Pumpkin Festival - featuring live Civil War re-enactments, petting zoo, hayrack rides, and pumpkins.
